Follow your bliss...
and the universe will open doors where there were only walls. ~ Joseph Campbell

With the tragic shifts in my life of the past year, I continue to seek ways of developing my writing not only as a creative endeavor, but also as my spiritual practice. I find solace in exploring the idea that our personal stories are not limited to our earthly existence, but continue on once we leave our physical bodies behind and begin our ultimate journey into the cosmos. It is my hope that my newest novel: Otzi’s Odyssey - The Troubled Soul of a Neolithic Iceman will express some of these thoughts.
When writing a novel, it is suggested to pigeonhole it into a specific genre in order to assist readers in their search. With that understanding, I can share with you Otzi’s Odyssey blends the two compelling genres of Metaphysical and Historical fiction.
The metaphysical element tells the journey of a troubled soul seeking redemption for a five-thousand year old bargain he made to save his family and clan that consequently doomed him to an eternity among the four demonic realms of Gehenna. While at the same time the novel draws upon historical fiction to show the fascinating archeological discoveries of the Iceman’s mummy, plus what life was like five-millennia ago during the Neolithic age, when an ancient civilization dwelled within the foothills of the snow-capped Italian Alps.
Some have asked for a literary comparison of Otzi’s Odyssey to other well-known novels. Perhaps I can suggest its a blend between Dante’s epic poem – Inferno, and Jean Auel’s novel - The Clan of the Cave Bear.
As I write, the manuscript is being proofread before being published, which I would expect would be sometime in December or January. In the meantime, I’ve included a link to the novel’s first chapter. Once the manuscript is ready, I can send you a PDF copy to read and provide a review.
